There are at least two bands with the same name: (1) The Elks were a short-lived Virginia Beach punk band that played in various forms over several years starting in 2000. After an initial shuffling of members, the group quickly left behind a grittier punk sound to incorporate more elements of metal and hardcore. Although the group was geographically scattered within a few years, various members often wrote new material and even performed a few shows when all together.
