The MuggleCasters are a group of staff members from one of the most popular Harry Potter fansites, mugglenet.com. Their podcast, MuggleCast, was released August 8, 2005, and was almost an immediate hit, quickly rising to 6th most popular podcast on iTunes. The first episode featured Andrew Sims, Kevin Steck, and Ben Schoen; now, the cast also includes Jamie Lawrence, Eric Scull, Laura Thompson, Matt Britton, Micah Tannenbaum and Nicholas Myers. There has also been numerous "guest" hosts, with members of other Harry Potter Podcasts, competition winners and other people connected to MuggleNet.
