Glazed Baby
Glazed Baby was born in Boston in 1991 to rock the world. Dale, Josh and Andy were determined to ride the biggest sound possible out of their aimless existence in New England. This need propelled the three through four years of relentless touring and recording. The trio's Handgun and Karmic Debt, recorded with Tim O'Heir and Squeeze the Tail, Suck the Head, recorded with Steve Albini, are testimonials to their awesome rock & roll power.
This great sonic weight proved to be too much for Josh, who left the band to join the Unsane. Joel promptly came to the rescue and his addition was celebrated by a victorious tour of America. Later in the year, Josh returned to the GB fold in time for a 3 month tour and to record the band's second monster LP, Atomic Communists.
Shortly thereafter, Josh and Joel left for Kansas City to join Season to Risk and Shiner. To coincide with this blow, the band's label, Red Decibel, folded. The elixir that would heal GB's rock & roll soul came in the form of Dave and Scott. The new incarnation of GB rehearsed for one week before smashing huge audiences to paste on a nationwide tour with Zeni Geva and Today is the Day.
A few months and short jaunts later, Glazed Baby entered Six Finger Satellite's Parlour to record songs over the holidays. Ringing in 1997 with a new album nearly completed, the members of GB wend their separate ways to form other successful touring and recording combos. The band briefly reunited in 1999 to release it's final LP, Ancient Chinese Secret, a fitting document of the world's heaviest band.
During it's career, Glazed Baby shared the stage with Helmet, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Surgery, Jawbox, White Zombie, Tar, Tool, Fight Smashing Pumpkins, Tesco Vee, The Laughing Hyenas, The Jesus Lizard, The Unsane, Pearl Jam, GWAR, 13, Buzz.Oven, EyeHateGod and Nirvana.
