Cuarteto Patria; Eliades Ochoa


Eliades Ochoa was part of the memorable Buena Vista Social Club sessions, but he had long been recognized in Cuba as one of the best interpreters of traditional Cuban music styles like <<son>>, <<bolero>> and <<guaracha>>. Born in 1946 in a small town in Oriente, Eliades taught himself to play the guitar at the age of six. When he was 11, Eliades began to play in the seedy bars and nightclubs of Satiago de Cuba.
