Chu Berry

Prior to joining Calloway's orchestra, Berry worked with Sammy Stewart, Benny Carter, Teddy Hill, and Fletcher Henderson. Though Berry based his style on that followed by Coleman Hawkins, the older man regarded Berry as his equal.
