Akkilles is the experimental project of singer/songwriter David Bennett. Invoking his love of Greek mythology and classical pottery, it is also an effort to display a multi-genre approach to songwriting and recording. Influences vary, from 90’s R&B to early and modern psychadelia, with an emphasis on folk melody. The resulting material is a gauzy multi-track collage of ambient pop. Bennett started the project in the summer of 2011, and has been an active participant in the Kansas City music scene since 2008, writing and rewriting a plethora of songs.
