Marshall Mathers aka "Eminem" and DeShaun Holton aka "Proof" are rappers from the Detroit area of Michigan. These two inspirational emcees grew up together in the tough urban decadence of Detroit when Mathers' mother wasn't around. Eminem would usually spend several nights over Proof's house. When he was over there, they would create freestyles and rhymes off of beats they heard on the radio or on television.
