The Lilacs are the godfathers of the "Weak-Core" movement, a genre that blends giddy pop sensibility with the spirit of grind-core. The term was originally created by Michael Hemond of the Canadian music magazine "Maxx Musixx," and has followed them through their career. The two members of The Lilacs were both respected members of the Canadian punk scene because of their theatrics, obvious talent, and sex appeal.
