
Mel Tormé, Gerry Mulligan & George Shearing
The trio of jazz greats Mel Tormé (vocalist, 1925-1999), George Shearing (pianist, 1919-2011), and Gerry Mulligan (saxophonist, 1927-1996) performed live together on occasion, first in 1977. They are represented live on record by the Concord Records CD, The Classic Concert, released in 2005. Recorded at Carnegie Hall in NYC on June 29, 1982, and subsequently broadcast by NPR in 1983, the concert CD is an edited (65 minute) version marking the first official release. Read more on Last.fm.
