With a strong social conscience and a burning desire to express and highlight the ills of the world and also to propose solutions, Living Roots is born.

The artiste now known as Living Roots, has performed for many years as Andy Livingston with varying degrees of success with a brand of reggae that straddles the lover’s rock and roots rock styles of the genre. His first chart hit (Searching For Love) came in 1997, blowing up the charts in Jamaica to peak in the top ten. The success of this song saw Andy performing all over Jamaica and the Caribbean. The song was picked up by Jet Star in England, for their Best Of The Best compilation of the year 1998.

Andy has performed both in Jamaica and internationally, sharing stage with such notables as Wailing Soul, Frankie Paul, Junior Reid, Luciano (with whom he has recorded a single ‘Reach Out’ for his album), and Gregory Isaacs, with who Andy toured the east coast of USA in 2004, and was introduced to life on the road. This experience also helped the artiste to develop a strong stage package and since the he has performed in Japan, England, Germany, and all over the Caribbean to great responses.

The single ‘My Promise’ charted at number one in Jamaica in 2010 and was picked up by V.P. Records for it’s Strictly the Best compilation. Andy released the album ‘HIGH’ as a digital release on most of the digital stores. This album was recently re-mastered and re-released. After entering the national song competition in Jamaica and placing third with the entry ‘Jamaican Sunshine’, Andy saw the need to strengthen the brand. The decision was made for the name change to Living Roots and recording has begun for the next album project, with the first single called ‘Milk and Brown Sugar’ featuring Divine Crime’s lead singer Amee Jana.
