The one and only Charlie McAlister hails from Charleston, SC. An absolute genius of the underground lofi fake folk world. Responsible for countless tapes and discs released on small labels, he has blazed his own deranged trail in non-sissy music. Football, ancient history, shrimping, Marina del Rey are all in Charlie's songs. Charlie McAlister is also a prolific visual artist and puts out Sardine Magozine, a grainy collage of sardine product labels, receipts, plays and letters to food product companies.
