Cascade in Blue
Formed in 2001 in Rockville, MD under the name The Dorian Mode, Cascade in Blue is an indie rock band that combines elements of jazz, avant-garde, and progressive music in their highly artistic arrangements. Unusual instrumentation (Lucas Carr- guitar/vocals, Andy Chervenak- bass/vocals, Claudio Olachea- violin/piano, Dario Olachea- upright bass, Ben Prinkki- piano/trombone, and Jonny Sickles- percussion) gives the band a unique, but melodic sound.
To date, the band has released three full length albums: "And So Continues the Cycle" (2004), "We Are But Simple Stories" (2005), and "Pioneers on the Eve" (2006) as well as an EP: Breathe Deep (2005).
