Txalaparta
The TXALAPARTA is a traditional percussion instrument from the Basque Country. Usually consists of 2 brackets (baskets, chairs, benches, etc..) On these some insulating material (corn leaf rolled old sacks, dry grass, etc..) And on this a board that is beaten with four suits (2 ea txalapartari). The woods used for the board have been those of alder, ash, chestnut and other country. Although each txalaparta traditionally used to have two or three wooden boards is common to find txalapartas recently formed by a dozen tables.
