Apples is the combined effort of two writers, the Return of the Spouse and the 5 Powers of Industry. Together, they take a fresh look at pop music, taking inspiration from musical happenings in every decade since the 50s. Apples make you feel good to be doing what you're doing, where ever you are doing it. The Great Escape Festival said this about the band:
