A trio hailing from Memphis, Tennessee who meld pop sensibility with sampling and electronics. Think The Cure sharing a taxicab with The Chemical Brothers...or maybe a volatile mixture of Cocteau Twins and New Order... ...or maybe none of these. Jack Alberson (voice, synths, programs, and occasional guitar) founded the group as a solo venture in 2004. With the addition of bassist Mark Simmonds shortly after the release of SD's first full-length (Illuminated), the music evolved and began to accommodate influences as broad as film music, trip-hop and jazz.
