Shabba Ranks (born Rexton Rawlston Fernando Gordon January 17th, 1966) in Sturgetown, St Ann, Jamaica. Shabba popularized the chant or (Cry) Shabba Among teenagers nationwide with his big radio hit Mr. Loverman known for rapping reggae rather than singing it, he quickly became a favorite among jamaicans in the 1980's. d Later Americans in the 1990's. Ranks landed a major label deal with Epic Records in 1991. He is heard worldwide and recognized by his deep sounding voice.Ranks released five records under a major label.
