Burmese Days

Burmese Days

Burmese Days were a five piece from southwest London. They played melodic pop and liked playing gigs. They broke up in May 2008

Whilst any popularity may be attributed to Rowan Martin's extreme dexterity and songwriting, most agreed the bass is the focal point of their songs, with lyrics, melody and drum beat merely hanging off it like clothes in a wardrobe.
We are Burmese Days, named after a book 2 of us read and raised by the river. At 17 We're young enough to get away with it, but old enough to know better. our socks are white and our aim is unclear. We are enemies of reason, and our only allies. Much we do is pretentious, but nothing we do is a pretence.

Believe it or not they played with some of these bands and more:

Late Of The Pier
Lightspeed Champion
Laura Marling
Crystal Castles
The Maccabees
And bizzarely, The Dead 60's. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
