The Somewhat Unsuccessful Gangsters By far the coolest band on Ex Libris, TSUG are ostracised by fellow musicians, because they’re really really good, and won’t lend anyone their drum kit. One famed Portrush music critic declared their debut LP We Are The Strings of Knocklynn as “the most intimidating home recording I’ve ever heard”, which is what happens when you get two bearded fellows, namely Ryan H. Flem(m)ing and Wullie Asken, to listen to Pavement, The Fall and Modest Mouse for a while, drink some Cold Ones, go into The Radio Shack studio at 3am and play everything in one go.
