X’s for I’s formed in Portland Oregon in 2004 through a series of odd coincidences and a mutual appreciation for noise-rock, post-punk, general rhythmic clamor and geek humor laced with boner jokes.
A year of steady writing and practicing commenced leading on to their fledgling shows. It was at this point that the seal was broken and the sweat proceeded to descend. Playing alongside their musical peers like Replicator, Wisdom Teeth, Black Elk, Science of Yabra and Prick and the Burn, X’s for I’s culled new inspiration and drive, both with their songwriting and their live show.
