Megakronkel began as a duo in 1990 and was located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Guitarist Robin van Velzen and bassplayer Jan Folmer (both ex-members of Umberto Di Bosso) enjoyed making music that was playfull and had unexpected changes and breaks, accompanied by a drumcomputer.
In 1993 their debut album Megakronkel is released by the Dutch label Konkurrel. In 1993 the drumcomputer is replaced by Koos van er Velde.
The following year the second album Neurotransmitter is released.
Megakronkel plays a lot, especially in Germany and Austria.
