Ashoka Dhar
Born in 1946 in Calcutta, Ashoka Dhar originally was a student of khyal master J.V.S. Rao. Mrs. Dhar, later a disciple of Ustad N. Aminuddin Dagar, is an initiate of the Dagar Bani Gharana and an instructor at the Dhrupad Sangeet Ashram in Calcutta, India. She is also one of the very few female Dhrupad singers in India.
