Hideki Tobeta and Yui Asaka were recruited, among various other J-Pop vocalists and musicians, to contribute music to the sountrack for the Playstation 2 video game Katamari Damacy, as "Japanese singers who were well-known in Japan but nobody had heard from in awhile for whatever reason". Hideki Tobeta composed the song Katamaritaino for this soundtrack, and Yui Asaka sang it. The goal of the project was to create music that gelled with the gameplay and provided a catchy melody that was timeless as well as easy to listen to.
