Austin-based mashup duo Beat Logic was formed in 2007 when two longtime friends resolved to make the world dance with electronic music. Three years of auditory experimentation later, Beat Logic unleashed its debut album, The Cyborg Manifesto, upon the world. Eschewing the profit-oriented practices of the music business, Beat Logic released its album for free on the internet. Often described as a cross between Girl Talk and The Hood Internet, Beat Logic manages to combine hundreds of samples of hiphop, indie/classic rock, and dance music spanning half a century.

Beat Logic is the work of Shadid Askar and Nick Carneiro, both engineering majors at the University of Texas at Austin.
