Emigrated to New York USA in 1952
From the start very successful by Radio and TV and important in the New York bebop scene. Awarded by Jazz magazines. As soloist he developed a very new sound. Made a new level for the accordion. His Quartet and Quintet was in the fifties pushing back frontiers.
Worked with important jazz musicians as Hank Jones, Herbie Mann, Kenny Clarke, Joe Puma, Carmen Mc Rae, John Coltrane, Oscar Pettiford, Art Farmer etc. He was also an important composer, arranger and producer for many others with several music styles and experiments.
