Ally Rae J was born Alixandra Rae James on July the 21st, 1991, and on that day...nothing changed. She has spent her entire life growing up in Louisville, Kentucky. For seventeen long years Ally Rae was in an artistic rut, having nothing she was really good at, but at the start of her 18th year, she found the ukulele. Now, a much happier of a camper, Ally is writing all the songs she can think up, and having a blast doing it. Her greatest musical influences are Donovan, Neil Young, and Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music, though she is influenced by many other things as well.
