Ayhan Aydin

Ayhan Aydin started creating music in the beginning of the 1990´s, when he discovered how easy sound could be controlled by a computer. He began to sample every piece of music he could get his hands on. Sound samples where cut and puzzled back to new music, mainly in a form of dark triphop. During the same period Ayhan was part of a hardcore band called Quasi Caos.

The 1990´s became more violent, which can be noticed in the music Ayhan made during these years. He increased the tempo, it became noisier and harder. He made music under the name Ates and was little of a breakcore pioneer in Sweden. Ates grew and during a period they were three with Carin Ahlf and Pernilla Strandberg composed their classic tune, Girl means fuck. They appeared first in Umeå and were a part of the straight edge hardcore scene. In their eyes breakcore were the next step for hardcore. After the collapse of the straight edge scene Ates continued to experiment with different musical expression. Ambiance from classic noise was combined with breaks.

Rasmus Fleischer joined Ates in 19998 and they released Scared in sweden and did jingles for radio and TV. They change the name to Multitude against the empire and under this name they release the album Songs for endings before breaking up. Ayhan releases one more album under this name, but after that, continues under his own name.

During some years Ayhan doesn't create or release any music under any kind of name. A prison sentence 2003 becomes a new start.

These last years Ayhan have developed and ajusted the dark 90´s sound. His job on the railway has implemented the monotonous, industrial and rhythmic sounds of the trains as a vital part of his music.

The visuals have started to become a more important part the last years. The pictures complements and contrasts the music. Ayhan have appear with VJ Oman at festivals and club events. During 2007 they played on Clandestino festival in Gothenburg and as support to Träd, Gräs och Stenar. Ayhan played in Buenos Aires in January 2007 and has had several shows in Stockholm at Kafé 44 and Debaser.

In 2005 Ayhan was in Osaka and did a show together with the noisepunks Ultrafuckers.
