Hamiyet Yüceses
Hamiyet Yüceses (Istanbul, 1914-1996) was one of the greatest Turkish singers (her surname means precisely "great voice"), and specialized in traditional and popular songs. She was famous for her renderings of the gazel (vocal improvisation) style. Turkish: Hamiyet Yüceses 1915 yılında İstanbul'da doğdu. İlk profesyonel konserini on bir yaşında Burhâniye'de vermiştir. Daha sonrasında Anadolu turnesi yaparak kendini tanıtmıştır. Bu sayede Banço Şevket tarafından üç yıllık bir mukâvele ile Londra Birahânesi'ne angaje edilmiştir.
