Oratai is the stage name of Brooklyn based composer/sound designer/DJ/electronic musician/beat producer Mark "Skooby" Laposky, better known simply as "Skooby". Skooby started producing under the name Oratai (Which is named after his mother, who is Thai) in 1999 for his debut LP "D3R17". That is Dorm 3, Room 17, the room he held at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where he produced this first album. Later on he expanded Oratai to an ensemble of live musicians, including a Hoboist, Gitarist, Percussionist, Keys and more.
