The songs of award winning folk artist/humorist Corey Doak have a quick wit and keen sense of artistry that has spoken deeply to many hearts in a span of 10 years and 5 albums. A unique blend of story, offbeat humor, psalmistry and poetry make him a standout amongst artists.

"I believe that our songs are meant to be a reflection of our human experience-sometimes we're singing songs of praise and sometimes we're singing the blues. Sometimes we're laughing like madmen over the most ridiculous thing, and the next moment we're pondering the meaning of beauty in the world.

"It was when I quit worrying about fitting a mold and just did my thing that really meaningful things started to happen. That's why I've ended up doing comedy one moment, and a serious song the next. It's cohesive because it's real."

His CD “No Sudden Movements” is the winner of the 2009 Covenant Award for the Folk/Roots Album of the Year and the 2009 BC Interior Music Award for Christian/Gospel Recording of the Year. In addition to the applause of the Canadian Gospel music world, Corey's music has received recognition from a wider audience. American National Radio Hall of Famer Dr. Demento said that "Scruffy the Elf" was his favorite Christmas comedy song of 2009. "Scruffy the Elf" received national airplay in the U.S. and was featured across Canada on CTV television.

Corey has traveled extensively across Canada & the United States, Mexico, Lithuania and Latvia. He has shared the stage with many notable performers including Greg Sczebel, POD, Martyn Joseph, Fresh I.E., Downhere, Steve Bell, Starfield and Shaun Groves.
