'59 Cadillac '57 Chevy Lyrics

Standin on the corner
Watchin all the girls go by
Drinkin wine and whiskey
Smokin joints and stayin high
I was young and crazy
And I never thought that I could dieCh: '59 Cadillac '57 Chevorlet
Going thru the gravel
Till it brings you to the break of day
Smokin in the boys room
Lookin for some chick to lay
I was young and crazy
And life was full of girls and beer
Now I'm getting older but
I'm still crazy after all these years
All these yearsLookin at the strippers
Hangin in the titty bars
Life was Jim Bean Whiskey
Naked chicks and fancy cars

I thought I was bullet proof
I was reachin for the starsRepeat Chorus

A life-long renegade, singer/songwriter David Allan Coe is one of the most colorful and unpredictable characters in country music history. One of the pioneering artists of the outlaw country movement of the '70s, he hasn't had many big hits — only three of his singles hit the Top Ten — but he has been among the biggest cult figures in country music throughout his career. Born in Akron, OH, Coe first got into trouble with the law at age nine. As a result, he was sent to reform school.
