5rebbeccas Lyrics

I love the dress sense and the colour of your hair
The way you say that people who are working
They are aiming to be posh, my dear
People flocked around you by the smokeys in our school
Teachers, they contain in all their anger as,
You regularly broke their rules
And everyone done the pill
But solvent abuse, it can kill
Your first taste of heaven, there, was splattered on your screen
Floating with the schemers and the part-time halloweeners
And the Lochee team
Everyone done the pill
But solvent abuse can kill
Five Rebbeccas, all of them close to me
One is a cook, and one of them does history
One is my niece and one lives close

And the one I love the most, has turned into a junkie
So under-satisfied with minors at your age
Something so deceiving when you find yourself conceiving
On a holy day
So unachievable with minors at your height
Something so deceiving when you find yourself conceiving
On a Sunday night
And everyone done the pill
But solvent abuse can kill
Five Rebbeccas, all of them close to me
One is a cook, and one of them does history
One is my niece, and one lives close
And the one I love the most, has turned into a junkie
Poor Miss Rebbecca, you'll be missed, my girl
If it wasn't for the treasure you'd be rich, my girl
Saved you from the terror and your so-called friends
Took a back seater but they kicked it in the end
You're sittting really cosy in your humble black cave
Doesn't seem likely for a girl of your age
Us cupid little kids can never look back
When one of us is lying in a big brown bag
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
(Five!) Five Rebbeccas, all of them close to me
(Four!) One is a cook, and one of them does history
(Three!) One is my niece, and one lives close
(Two!) And there's five Rebbeccas, all of them close to me
(One!) One is a cook, and one of them does history
(None!) One is my niece, and one lives close
And the one I love the most, has turned into a junkie
I love the dress sense and the colour of your hair
The way you say that people who are working
I can tell you that's a touch, my dear

The View (Dryburgh, Scotland) have been active in the music scene since early 2005, supporting more renowned acts including Babyshambles, Primal Scream and The Undertones. The band initially based themselves at The Bayview pub in the Menzieshill district of Dundee, not too far from their native Dryburgh. From this pub, the band took their name. Shortly after they moved to The Doghouse, a respected music venue in Dundee's city centre, where they came to the attention of local music promoters, management and ever-growing fan-base. Currently signed to 1965 Records, the band's debut single, "Wasted Little DJs", was released 7 August 2006. The single entered the UK MTV/NME video charts on 9 July 2006 and climbed to top this chart the same day it reached 15 in the UK singles chart on 13 August 2006. They have recently released their first album, titled 'Hats Off To The Buskers', which entered the UK album chart at #1 and is so far the biggest selling album of 2007.

The View (Sydney, Australia) formed in March 2005. Now known as Planet of the Stereos, the band is a ubiquitous presence amongst Australia's east-coast indie scene, building a cult following with strong support from Australian nationwide commercial radio and television networks. Recently the group were voted the winners of a prominent Australia-wide unsigned artist competition. According to the band, the name change was triggered by a shift in musical direction.
