A Day of Reckoning Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
First there came a mass
A brilliant lights of flash
All across the President's skies
As he sits and laughs
He preaches non conformity
I don't think they see
They live for him and what he believes
A wrath of misery
Law, miseryLeft to die alone
With their living farces

Think you could take my life away
To never get it back
No more need for societies
All the lives he took
The fault of law and majority
Rules in an open bookLeave me alone
Don't take it away
A place where I know
They're destined to take awayNow the lives they lead
Are left to broken dreams
Just when they thought
They had it all
Life's not what it seems
He preaches non conformity
I don't think they see
They live for him and what he believes
A life of miseryLeave me alone
Don't take it away
A place where I know
They're destined to take awayDon't take away
Society
(Day by day)
There'll come a day
(Day by day)
You're gonna pay
(Day by day)
A day of reckoning
(Day by day)
A day of reckoning
You're all gonna pay
You can't get away

Testament was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Originally formed as 'Legacy' in 1983 by founding members Eric Peterson (rhythm guitar), Derrick Ramirez (guitar) and Louie Clemente (drums), the line-up included vocalist Steve Souza and Greg Christian (bass). Ramirez was later replaced by wunderkind Alex Skolnick (lead guitar). Souza soon departed to join Exodus and suggested that the towering Chuck Billy take over as frontman(and was later run over by a bus).
