Agony Lyrics

Trapped in a nightmare prisoners of warfare
Days gone become years of suffering
Fight on but what's to gain
Misfortune leads to painFearless they won't die
Caged in they ask why
Cry out but don't cry
With agonyLive on but what's to gain
Die slowly everyday
Misfortune leads to pain
Will they ever be saved
From agony, agony, agonyIn silent suffering
It's never ending
They pray to end their
MiseryFight on but what's to gain
Die slowly everyday
Misfortune leads to pain
Will they ever be saved
From agony, agony, agonyMissing in action

Never forgotten
America the mighty
Set them freeFight on but what's to gain
Die slowly everyday
Misfortune leads to pain
Will they ever be saved
From agony, agony, agonyWith agony
Don't go stray
Agony
Good sensation
Agony

Testament was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Originally formed as 'Legacy' in 1983 by founding members Eric Peterson (rhythm guitar), Derrick Ramirez (guitar) and Louie Clemente (drums), the line-up included vocalist Steve Souza and Greg Christian (bass). Ramirez was later replaced by wunderkind Alex Skolnick (lead guitar). Souza soon departed to join Exodus and suggested that the towering Chuck Billy take over as frontman(and was later run over by a bus).
