Jorge & Mateus are a musical duo and one of the most famous performers of sertanejo music (Brazilian country music). The duo is composed of Brazil-based vocalists Jorge Alves Barcelos (born August 27, 1982) and Mateus Pedro Liduário de Oliveira (born July 15, 1986). Both are from the city of Itumbiara, in the Brazilian state of Goiás. Often considered the principal duo of actual sertanejo, be it for their repertoire, their financial success or their fans, they are responsible for a large part of the success of the genre.
