Admission - ABC Diabolo

ABC Diabolo were a German hardcore band from the early to mid-90s. Their style was crusty, yet flavored with some doomish metal edge, lyrics dealed with political issues but didn't tend to sloganizing. While nowadays each and every screamo band has some guy screaming his soul out, ABC Diabolo were one of the first to have their shouter scream that style while remaining perfectly characteristic and individual, thus setting the band apart from its epigonal followers.

ABD Diabolo probably could be considered one of the pioneers of metallic German hardcore which became an outfit in the later 90s, while never gaining the status of scene superstars. The band released their records on DIY label Common Cause Records who also put out early Dawnbreed (pre-Monochrome) and Berlin based Ambush both pioneering a more eclectic hardcore style.

A few members of ABC now play in KILLFLAVOUR, who plays stuff all over the board... at times sounding akin to Mogwai or Godspeed You Black Emperor then at times doing stuff that probably would've been ABC's 3rd album.
