After the Flood Lyrics

Continuing the story, humanity stumbles
Gone is the glory, there's a far distant rumbleThe clouds have gathered and exploded now
Axis shattered, there is no North or South
Far off, the ice is foundering slowlyThe ice is turning to waterThe water rushes over all
Cities crash in the mighty wave
The final man is very small
Plunging in for his final batheThe water rushes over all
Cities crash in the mighty wave
The final man is very small
Plunging in for his final batheThis is the ending of the beginning
This is the beginning of the endMiddle of the middle, mid-point, end and start
The first peak rises, forces the waves apart
Far off, the ice is now reformingPoles are fixed once more
Water's receding like death blood leavingAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd then he said, every step appears to be

The unavoidable consequence of the preceding one
And in the end there beckons more and more clearly
Total annihilation'This is the ending of the beginning
This is the beginning of the endAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody livesAnd when the water falls again
All is dead and nobody lives[Incomprehensible]

Chapel Club were a London, UK post-punk / shoegaze quintet: Lewis Bowman (vocals), Michael Hibbert (guitar & keyboards), Alex Parry (guitar), Liam Arklie (bass guitar) & Rich Mitchell (drums). Formed in the church of St Luke Old Street's shadow (summer 2006), where - twice or thrice weekly - after nearby rehearsals, the five gathered to drink & discuss the band's name. “Like everything else with us,” says Michael, “the name was unplanned and ill-defined in the beginning. We didn’t start out with one and we’d go ages without bringing it up.
