Ain't Selling Out Lyrics

I hear you, hear you talkin'
Goes in one ear and right out the other
Not surprised where you come from
What you want might be easy for someoneBut not me, I don't see it
Can't you see that it just not my style
You said please, I said sorry
'Cause I am what I am and that's all thenAll of these things that you want me to be
It means nothin' to me and that's then
And when I try it's a thorn in my side
And it's pullin' me down, I'm tellin' you I ain't sellin' outThere's a smile on my face
And it's there for a good reason
Ain't no shame in my game
Tell me what in the hell were you thinkin'All of these things that you want me to be
It means nothin' to me and that's all then
And when I try it's a thorn in my side
And it's pullin' me down, I'm tellin' you I ain't sellin' outHere's a message for you people
And I'm layin' it out on the table
If you don't like it, I don't care

'Cause I'm right here, I ain't goin' nowhereAll of these things that you want me to be
It means nothin' to me and that's all then
And when I try it's a thorn in my side
And it's pullin' me down, I'm tellin' you I ain't sellin' out

Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his group exploded on the scene in the mid-'90s and garnered huge amounts of radio airplay on commercial radio, which historically has not been a solid home for blues and blues-rock music, with the exception of Stevie Ray Vaughan in the mid-'80s. Shepherd was born June 12, 1977, in Shreveport, LA. The Shreveport native began playing at age seven, figuring out Muddy Waters licks from his father's record collection (he has never taken a formal lesson).
