Alabama High-test Lyrics

Alabama high test got me in a big mess
Higher than a wild cat, runnin' from the wolf pack
They're gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama high test
65 southbound cruisin' with a half-pound
Blue lights spinin' round, better put the hammer down
Dirt road Tennessee, ain't nobody stoppin' me
Short run, state line, gotta keep makin' time Alabama high test
Well, huff paint, cocaine, playin' chicken with a train
Smack dab, Meth lab, mellow out, rehab
Percocet, cigarette, I don't need no more of that
But gimmie some down home Dixie fried homegrown Alabama high test
Alabama high test, Alabama high test
Got me in a big mess, runnin' from the wolf pack
They're gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama high test
Drug bust, disgust, plead with the circuit judge

Son don't be coy, send you up the river boy
Jump suit, chain gang, shackles on my feet and hand
Standin' on I-65 wishin' I was rolling by with Alabama high test
Alabama high test, Alabama high test
Got me in a big mess, higher than a wild cat
They're gonna put me in the slammer
If they catch me with that Alabama high test

Old Crow Medicine Show is a folk/country group from Nashville, Tennessee. Along with original songs, the band performs many pre-World War II blues and folk songs. The style of music they perform is sometimes called alt-country, but today more often referred to as Americana.

Their 2004 album "O.C.M.S." was selected by CMT (Country Music Television) as one of the top-10 bluegrass albums of that year. Their current tour includes bars, festivals, and larger venues. They are best experienced in smaller settings, where their infectious high-energy style electrifies the crowd, often a mixture of older listeners and 20-somethings.

They make frequent guest appearances on A Prairie Home Companion.

The song Wagon Wheel is written based off a chorus composed by Bob Dylan for the film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.
