All Over Now Lyrics

The birds have stopped their song, they know its time to go
The trees have dropped their leaves on the silent roads
The boys put down their arrows and the bows and the
Clouds have moved aside for the sun to dim its glow
the river dried up & the oceans with the sea
The stars put out their lights and closed the galaxy
They shut the mountains & the valleys on the way
They packed up Africa, Brazil, Bombay, cos its
final
You should go
But its fine now
They all know
its over now
and now the west winds are so slow they hardly blow

And the chill outsides too cold even for snow
The houses packed up the streets left long ago
From here to vience beach, milan, & the congo
take a while to stand outside there'll be no rain
I don't know if I can start all this again
Will the world return to me intime the same
From here to italy, norway & spain cos its
final
You should go
But its fine now
They all know
---

Alice Russell (b. 1975) is a British soul singer. She is the daughter of an organist, and grew up in Framlingham in Suffolk. At the age of nine, following in her father's and sisters' musical footsteps, Russell began taking lessons on cello, and sang in choirs, before studying art and music in Brighton from 1994. As well as the classical influences of her father, and formal music lessons, Russell listened to gospel music and soul artists such as Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin from an early age, which played a big part in the shaping of her style.
