All You Can Do Lyrics

Hopelessness in the alley, alone, draggin' his feet
He wasn't born that way but life has just taught him defeat
So he waits to teach you distrust from his cold home in the streetsAnd hope is all that you can doHopelessness is on the TV, infecting sea to shining sea
In the worried eyes of our parents, try as we might not to believe
And we tried pill and prescriptions but drugs won't cure this diseaseHope is all that we can doThis is the new year, nobody knows
Where we are going, what's down the road
The city is humming, the country is cold
But you give me something, something like hopeWe grew up without parents to teach us wrong from right
So we turned towards many heroes but still we couldn't sleep at night
So we searched and read and listened to the songs old prophets sangLet's all get together friends and dance away the rain
It's time to get together friends and dance away the rainThis is the new year, nobody knows
Where we are going, what's down the road
The city is humming, the country is cold
But you give me something, something like hope

He later moved to New York City, playing mostly at open mic nights and small venues.
