All the Things You Are Lyrics

You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely songYou are the angel glow that lights a star
The dearest things I know are what you areSome day my happy arms will hold you
And some day I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mineYou are the angel glow that lights a star
The dearest things I know are what you areSome, some, some, some some day my happy arms will hold you
And some day I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are, are mine, yeah, yeahAll the things you are, are mine
All the things you are, come to mine
Some day my happy arms will hold you
All the things you are, come to mineAll the things you are, come to mine
All the things you are, come to mine
All the things you are, come to mine

John Arnold Griffin III (April 24, 1928 – July 25, 2008) was an American bop and hard bop tenor saxophonist. Like many other successful musicians from Chicago, he studied music at DuSable High School under Walter Dyett. Griffin, was reputed to be the 'World's Fastest Saxophonist' in the jazz idiom, though as he aged, and as the jazz audience declined, this accolade all but disappeared.
In the 1940s and 1950s he worked in Lionel Hampton's and Joe Morris's bands, in The Jazz Messengers, and in the Thelonious Monk Quartet.
