A locally popular Icelandic rock icon, Ásbjörn Morthens (or Bubbi Morthens (known simply as Bubbi)) emerged during the punk scene in the late 1970s. Influenced by artists such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, Bubbi's songs are frequently inspired by social and political issues.
