Ambulance Lyrics

I'm a lover and a whore
I've been rich but I've been poor
It's not over nowWe are the fortunes that we keep
Creating bonds around our feet?
It's not over nowCall me an ambulance
'Cause I'm fading away
I'm here overwhelmed
I'm here overwhelmedLost in the shuffle
I'll fall to the back
I'm here overwhelmed
I'm here overwhelmed
I've walked down these streets
With my head down in defeat
It's not over nowTaken for granted and run foul
Just to appreciate you now
My world's an island waiting to be foundCall me an ambulance
I'm fading away
I'm here overwhelmed

I'm here overwhelmedLost in the shuffle
I'll fall to the back
I'm here overwhelmed
I'm here overwhelmedCan I let you in?
Can I let you in?
How do I begin?
How do I begin?
Can I let you in?
Can I let you in?
And how do I begin?
How do I begin? You can hide behind these walls
But darlin' every city falls
And comes crumbling down
And while her sister lies with me
Fortune smiles through broken teeth
Just waitin' for you to lay her downCall me an ambulance
I'm fading away
I'm here overwhelmed
I'm here overwhelmed
Forever ever stumbling
Down this trail

Originally formed as Pilate in 1999, the Toronto-based rock quartet changed their name to “Pilot Speed” in mid-2006, in order to avoid possible lawsuits as their music spread internationally from their native Canada. Pilate were born in 2000 after vocalist and New Zealand native Todd Clark left the music program at the University of Western Ontario where he’d been studying and placed an ad online for potential bandmates. Bassist Ruby Bumrah, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, answered the call, bringing with him fellow alums Chris Greenough (guitar) and Bill Keeley (drums).
