Don't Stare Lyrics

The world is paper thin
But it goes on when you give in
With a beauty for the living
Yest this land's been less forgiving
There's a cloud that holds no rain
It just hangs in constant pain
A relentless reminder of what lies on the horizonSnow on these hills
This tree by the bank
Lights for the fallen give you their thanks
Lives on the way are breaking my heart
Tell me you're OK so far
Hey now, don't stare
Hey now, don't stare
Don't stare
Now stare
Hey now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
Don't stare

Don't stareI can still hear her singing now
A small voice my soul devoured
Yet her song is everlasting
Just a tale to ease her passing
Sing it loud my child for me
For I swear I do believe
After I stare after you too long
I'll lose the strength to move on
Snow on these hills
Tell me how far
we've come to find this
Find who we areThe light on this beach has broken my heart
Lives on the corner crawlHey now, don't stare
Hey now, don't stare
Don't stare
Now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
Don't stare
Don't stareDon't stare
Don't stare
Don't stareStill I search for things to say
Words to canonize these days
Can I ever hope to capture
The horror and the raptureShe fights with her will
Crawls through the dark
Laughs at the warnings
Cries when it's hard
Leaving alone is
breaking your heart
Tell me you're ok!Hey now, don't stare
Hey now, don't stare
Don't stare
Now stare
Hey now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
Don't stare
Don't stareHey now, don't stare
Hey now, don't stare
Don't stare
Now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
Hey now don't stare
And don't stare
And don't stare

Originally formed as Pilate in 1999, the Toronto-based rock quartet changed their name to “Pilot Speed” in mid-2006, in order to avoid possible lawsuits as their music spread internationally from their native Canada. Pilate were born in 2000 after vocalist and New Zealand native Todd Clark left the music program at the University of Western Ontario where he’d been studying and placed an ad online for potential bandmates. Bassist Ruby Bumrah, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, answered the call, bringing with him fellow alums Chris Greenough (guitar) and Bill Keeley (drums).
