Angel's Doorway Lyrics

Angel comes home, his clothes in a cloud
Of the dust and the dirt and destruction
She waits inside, she knows he's arrived
She feels this with no introductionAt angel's door, you have to leave it on the floor
Don't bring it in
(Don't bring it in)
He can't show what she doesn't want to know
Those things he's seenShe knows the smell of that life he can't tell
Of the fires and the flesh and confusion
Inside his brain he's never the same
Though he tries to maintain the illusionAngel's door, you have to leave it on the floor
Don't bring it in
(Don't bring it in)
He can't show what she doesn't want to know
Those things he's seenAngel comes home, his clothes in a cloud
Of the dust and the dirt and destruction

Suzanne Vega is an American singer-songwriter noted for her eclectic folk-inspired music. She was born Suzanne Nadine Vega on 11 July 1959, in Santa Monica, California, but has lived most of her life in New York City. There, she attended the High School of the Performing Arts (the school seen in the feature film musical Fame), where she studied modern dance. Vega realized that her talent in dance was not sufficient to make her living doing it.
