Are You Lonesome Tonight? Lyrics

Are you lonesome tonight, do you miss me tonight?
Are you sorry we drifted apart?
Does your memory stray to a bright summer day
When I kissed you and called you sweetheart?Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there? Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again?
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight?
Are you sorry that we drifted apart? When I called you sweetheart
Do the chairs in our parlor seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at our doorstep and picture us there?

Several well-known entertainers have given Manilow their "stamp of approval," including Sinatra, who was quoted in the 1970s regarding Manilow, "He's next." In 1988, Bob Dylan stopped Manilow at a party, hugged him and said, "Don't stop what you're doing, man. We're all inspired by you."
