Art-I-Ficial (Studio Demo) Lyrics

I know I'm artificial
But don't put the blame on me
I was reared with appliances
In a consumer societyWhen I put on my make-up
The pretty little mask not me
That's the way a girl should be
In a consumer societyIn a consumer society
In a consumer societyMy existence is illusive
The kind that is supported By mechanical resources
My existence is illusive
The kind that is supported By mechanical resourcesI wanna be instamatic
I wanna be a frozen pea
I wanna be dehydrated
In a consumer societyIn a consumer society
In a consumer societyMy existence is illusive
The kind that is supported By mechanical resources
My existence is illusive
The kind that is supported By mechanical resources

X-Ray Spex are an English punk band from London that formed in 1976. The original line-up featured singer Poly Styrene (born Marion Elliot-Said) on vocals, Jak Airport (Jack Stafford) on guitars, Paul Dean on bass, Paul 'B. P.' Hurding on Drums, and Lora Logic (born Susan Whitby) on saxophone. This latter instrument was an atypical addition to the standard punk instrumental line-up, and became one of the group's most distinctive features.
