Art-I-Ficial Lyrics

I know I'm artificial I was reared with appliances But don't put the blame on me The pretty little mask not me In a consumer society When I put on my make-up In a consumer society That's the way a girl should be My existence is illusive The kind that is supported By mechanical resources By existence is illusive By mechanical resources The kind that is supported I wanna be instamatic I wanna be dehydrated I wanna be a frozen pea In a consumer society In a consumer society In a consumer society

X-Ray Spex are an English punk band from London that formed in 1976. The original line-up featured singer Poly Styrene (born Marion Elliot-Said) on vocals, Jak Airport (Jack Stafford) on guitars, Paul Dean on bass, Paul 'B. P.' Hurding on Drums, and Lora Logic (born Susan Whitby) on saxophone. This latter instrument was an atypical addition to the standard punk instrumental line-up, and became one of the group's most distinctive features.
