As Angels Cry Lyrics

Last night I dreamed that the world was coming to an end
The holy rapture had already came and went
Left behind through hard times in bad lands where I belong
I thought about my loved ones and all of the things that Id done wrong
There was no denying
I would be beaten by the chain of consequences
Ooh, Im beaten by the chain
By the chainFeels like I slip further from you every single day
Its getting harder to call your name when I bow my head to pray
And its nobodys fault by mine
Nobodys but my own
All the doubts in my head leave no will to carry on
And theyre multiplying
Every link in the chain of consequences
Ooh, Im beaten by the chain
By the chainAnd as the watch me fall
The angels cry
because they understand my pain

and theyve seen the blood spilled in the battles of my life
Im in a leap of faith, racing through the sky
Im like the tears that fall from angels eyesHoly majesty come and save me from my sins
Polish up this rusty shell that Ive been livin in
This life is a steppin stone
But Ive fallen through the cracks
And Im calling on you now to come and
Come and bring me back
Cant you hear me crying?
Help me break this chain of consequences
Ooh, Im beaten by the chain
By the chainAnd as the watch me fall
The angels cry
Cause they understand my pain
And theyve seen the blood spilled in the battles of my life
Im in a leap of faith, racing through the sky
Im like the rain that fall from angels eyesIm like the rain, oh
I said oh, Im like the rain
Im like the rain
Im like the rain the falls from angels eyes

For Corey Smith, one of the best things about making music has always been getting the chance to hang out and have a good time with his friends. And it’s still that way, nearly 10 years after his early days of playing the bars around Athens, Georgia. The big difference now? Well, it seems these days Corey just has a lot more friends to hang with. The crowds at his sold-out live performances frequently number in the thousands—quite a change from the times when he never dreamed of much beyond playing for a handful of his college buddies.
