Funkwerkstatt was founded in 1999 by Derrick Porter and Nicola John. It found a home on their own label, Superfancy, which specialized in electro, minimal and tech-house sounds. They began producing numerous releases and remix projects for fans of italo disco and Kraftwerk sounds.
In 2004, singer Dan Morro joined Funkwerkstatt, weaving his vocals into the instrumental tapestry of Derrick and Nicola's music and expanding the spectrum of the group's sound. Through their energetic live acts, the trio strives to win the enthusiasm and sweat of their audiences.
